Ek Tha Tiger is a Bollywood action film directed by Kabir Khan, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film had its premiere on 14th July 2012.Salman Khan starts as an undercover officer code-named TIGER, who is tasked with maintaining law and order in the fictional country of "Veerappanstan". As the movie progress he falls in love with a woman named Zoya played by Katrina Kaif. This is something that would be prohibited according to the agency's rules as it could complicate his work if this relationship was discovered. He assumes a different identity to help her and falls in love with her.The movie starts with Veerappanstan's Home minister, Marwah (Girish Karnad) taking a helicopter trip to Pandhwa village and meeting Tiger there. Tiger is asked by the minister to kill all the tigers still alive in his state, as it will be an honor for his home state. Tiger refuses and soon finds that the minister has many more evil plans for him. He also finds that he is being followed by unknown people. He then calls his agency and informs them of the situation. He is told that they will get back to him soon.Meanwhile, Zoya (Katrina Kaif), a rich girl who pretends to be simple and poor, lives in Pandhwa, receives a letter from an unknown person, who tells her that she knows the truth about her. Soon after this incident, she is kidnapped and Tiger comes and saves her and brings her back to Pandhwa. He asks her if there is any place where she feels safe and Zoya says that she feels safe only in his company. Tiger brings her to an empty house and tells her that there is no one else in the village and she can rest there. He calls his boss and informs him about her situation. They instruct him that he should bring Zoya back with him to Veerappanstan as she is now a highly valuable asset.The country's government officially gets hold of Zoya, and Tiger rushes back to Pandhwa, where he is told by his boss that they needed the help of his home state's Home minister to capture Zoya, for they had planned to use her as a bargaining chip in exchange for political office for Marwah himself. They also tell him that Zoya was in fact an undercover agent, working for the GoI with the consent of her boyfriend, who happens to be the Home minister himself. Meanwhile, Zoya tells Tiger that she is not in love with him, but only wants to help him with his mission. This makes Tiger even more determined to complete his mission. When he returns to Pandhwa with Zoya, everybody mistakes them for a married couple because of their physical closeness which is forbidden in Veerappanstan. He tells her that they will have to keep their relationship a secret.
